Hass Ratnayake has announced his campaign for City Council’s Ward 1 seat in the 2024 election. He is running for the seat held by Erin Edwards since 2019.

The son of Sri Lankan immigrants, Ratnayake is a graduate of Poly High School and works as a property manager and real estate broker.

“I am running for this position because I believe in the power of community and the positive impact we can make when we work together,” says Ratnayake [on his Instagram page](https://www.instagram.com/p/CsHseDShLub/?ref=raincrossgazette.com).

Former Riverside Charter Review Committee Chairperson Ben Clymer, Jr. has endorsed Ratnayake saying, “Riverside needs a proven, business-savvy leader with actual real-world business experience on the Council. I believe Hass is the candidate who can help steer better jobs and greater economic opportunities to our community.”
